Our Range of Accommodation Options

Independent living for sale on a life rights basis

Living independently, in a community like Marian Villa’s, can be the best of both worlds. Our residents enjoy their own space and take care of themselves whilst no longer worrying about caring for a free-standing home such as tending the garden and household maintenance.  They enjoy privacy and the ability to cook their own meals (or can choose to eat in the dining room) whilst feeling safe in a community environment. This ‘lock up and go’ lifestyle suits people on the move.

Cottages are available on a 10-year Life-Right Endowment Donation.  They vary in size from a studio to a one-bedroom with a few two-bedroomed units. Each has an open-plan living area with a separate kitchen.

What is a Life right?

Life Right is the right to occupy a unit for one’s lifetime (or spouse’s lifetime where applicable). Marian Villa’s 10-year Life Rights Endowment Donation is calculated on the basis that should you relocate within the first ten years a percentage of the initial sum will be paid back to you, e.g. 50% after five years. However, should you move after ten years, you are not eligible for any refund. You can, however, continue to occupy the cottage by paying only the monthly levy for the rest of your life. As Marian Villa is a Non Profit, money generated from this system contributes to a greater good, ensuring the longevity of accommodation and care options for future generations.

There are different styles of lodgings to suit different preferences and budgets:

  • studios best suited to singles
  • one-bedroom cottages best suited to two people sharing
  • two-bedroom cottages best suited for two people sharing

The monthly levy payable varies according to the size of the cottage.
